Former Stockinbingal Hotel
A single storey weatherboard hotel was built here by Ted Woodhouse in 1888, catering to the Cobb & Co coaches, which used the village as a stopover on their journeys from Harden to Temora. Woodhouse ran the hotel until 1898. That same year, the outer walls of the building were re-clad in brick.
In 1908, major renovations were carried out, and in 1911 the building enlarged.
Thomas Ellwood purchased the property in 1913 and the hotel had a number of licensees over the following twenty years.
The Licenses Reduction Board withdrew the hotel’s licence in 1934, and compensated both the owner and the licensee. The building was converted to a rural merchandise agent's premises and private dwelling, and later divided into three flats.
In recent years, the property was restored as a private residence.
