Wattle Time Fair

Wattle Time Fair

Due to current COVID restrictions and other arising circumstances, the iconic Wattle Time Fair has had to be rescheduled with the new date being Saturday 11th September 2021 from 10.00am – 4.00pm to be held in Albert Park (Thompson Street) .

The day will start with the street parade down Parker Street at 10.00am then a day of great fun, food and entertainment will follow.

The day will feature:

• local business ‘pop-up’ stalls and displays

• produce, craft and market stalls

• a variety of food stalls

• live music

• kids entertainment and games

• horse and carriage rides

• a Best Dressed Dog Show

• treasure hunts, and free competitions

• and Wattle Times first 2021 Coota Picnic Hot Rods, Customs & Motorcycles Show and Shine

Due to current COVID-19 restrictions we have had to reschedule the Cootamundra Business Awards Gala Night from Saturday 17th July to Friday 30th July 2021.

The venue remains The Cootamundra Ex-Services Club with the event starting at 6.30pm.

Using only natural eucalyptus leaves (no chemicals) you will learn how to dye a scarf to make a unique and beautiful design. Sadly this will be Merilyn’s last workshop at TACC as she will be leaving Coota in the near future. This is your last chance to try Eco Dyeing with Merilyn - don’t miss out!

What is Included: * One silk OR silk & wool scarf. Extra scarves available for $25.

What to Bring: Wear enclosed shoes. BYO lunch, snacks and drink. Tea and coffee making facilities available.

WORKSHOP BOOKINGS ARE ESSENTIAL. Book early to avoid disappointment as space is limited. Please observe the booking deadline. You can book your spot:

SEED Community Day

SEED is a creative day connecting and strengthening the Cootamundra community. The community day will be followed in June by a series of workshops responding to the outcomes from the day.

• Morning - Listen and reflect with Amanda Levett, artist and traditional custodian about the importance of following Yindyamarra, caring for and learning from Country.

• Lunch. Bring a picnic rug or chair along with your own picnic lunch to enjoy in the great outdoors.

• Afternoon - Chris Main and family will share & discuss the transition of Retreat to Regenerative Agriculture practices and holistic land care and how supporting cultural access is vital.

The audience is encouraged to participate by listening, sharing and responding to the themes in creative ways of drawing, making and describing. A roving youth documentary team will be collecting photos, audio and creative output from the day.

This course will teach you the basic techniques for painting with oils. On day 1 Kim will cover drawing, tone (render in charcoal) and mixing oil paint to render tonal scale. On day 2 Kim will show you how to apply colour tonally.

Harry is a Cootamundra Celebrity. Guide Dog and companion to Ross Fitzell, he is known around the District for his love of absolutely everyone. When not working, he is always ready with a tail wag and a big sloppy kiss (especially if there are pats involved).

Very few people, however, are aware that Harry is a raconteur extraordinaire with a quick wit, great sense of humour, and most importantly, a social conscience. He is also now a published author, with his first book offering a light-hearted look at life from the perspective of a working dog entrusted with the safety of a disabled human.
