Official Branding Launch
As of the 5th of August, the Cootamundra-Gundagai Regional Council in conjunction with the Cootamundra Tourism action Group and the Cootamundra Development Corporation officially launched the new Cootamundra Tourism Branding. The launch was held at the Cootamundra Country Club with Mayor Abb McAlister in attendance amoungst 30 other guests.
The Creator
WISDOM, based in Wollongong NSW, were engaged by Council to create a new Tourism Branding and Marketing Strategy for our local government area. The agency has over 15 years experience in developing tourism Marketing and Branding.
Process
Wisdom conducted a survey As part of the creation process, to collect as much information as possible from people who live in the Council area, in order to create a new visual tourism identity for our LGA. The Cootamundra Tourism Action Committee was then involved in fine tuning the document.
The Cootamundra Story
Cootamundra epitomises the Australian spirit. The beautiful leafy town with authentic rural charm was built on the hard work of the Australia wheat and canola farmers, the military and the rail.
Cootamundra has a playful sporting charm, with world class sports facilities and events that attract thousands of people from across Australia. Cootamundra is the birth place of Australia’s greatest sportsman, Sir Donald Bradman, and the hometown of many more Australian sporting greats.
Australia’s national floral emblem, the Wattle, is strongly connected to this region. ‘Cootamundra Wattle’ was written and sung by Aussie legend John Williamson.
It’s no wonder the Aussie spirit is so strong in Cootamundra, a region filled with proud locals, who invite visitors to let their rural spirit play.
Tone of Voice
The tone of voice reflects the personality of the brand. Whether that be written content or verbal communications, the tone of voice must remain consistent in the marketing:
Authentic
friendly & playful
inspired by the beauty of nature
a good storyteller
spirited and Australian.
The tone of voice should be very friendly, casual and relaxed. It is the kind of laid-back, welcoming nature of your locals that influences the overall personality and tone of voice of the region.
Logo Description
The Cootamundra logo uses an iconic silhouette of the wattle.
The silhouette of the wattle represents a small bunch of
blossoms and leaves to create a cohesive and balanced graphic.
The landscape shows green fields with golden / yellow hills in the background to represent the canola and wheat fields of the region.
The logos theme create a vision of beautiful clear skies, vibrant colours, fresh air, nature, and a sense of escape.
