What's On- September 2020

September in Cootamundra

September is the month of Spring and so far the weather has been putting on a show with temperatures between 17-23 degrees. Not only is the weather beautiful, but so are the surroundings of the country side. Canola is starting to come out in flower and the yellow is spreading quickly across the Riverina. Canola is an oilseed crop created through plant crossbreeding.

Acacia Baileyana or Cootamundra wattle is a shrub or tree in the genus Acacia. The scientific name of the species honours the botanist Frederick Manson Bailey. It is indigenous to a very small area in southern inland New South Wales, comprising Temora, Cootamundra, Stockinbingal and Bethungra districts. This bush is also yellow, making our community look very bright and vibrant.
